This year my piece ‘Kayaks at Deep Cove’ was selected to be a part of the 2025 calendar produced by North Van Arts featuring artworks of scenes from around Vancouver’s North Shore area. The original piece is also being displayed in an exhibition featuring all 12 original works in the calendar.

I based this piece on a photo I took on my first Canada Day weekend in 2017 during a 3 day kayak trip down Indian Arm - it feautures our kayaks on the beach at Deep Cover, ready to be launched into the water. This beautiful little place is always part of the ‘Introduction to Vancouver’ tour I give family and friends when they come to visit.

The piece itself is 20x12” (18x24” after framing) and is made using my usual process - my original digital illustration translated into a file that can be cut by desktop CNC followed by hand assembly.

This piece was displayed as part of the exhibition of the calendar artists at the District Foyer Gallery in North Vancouver and at the Silk Purse gallery in West Van.
